From Lumber Yard
to Advanced Manufacturer
Eastside Lumber was acquired in 2021 to support rebuilding and housing production in under-supplied communities across Kansas City. Through operating the business, management identified a much larger market gap.
Supplying materials alone does not produce housing at the speed or scale the region requires. Bilt-Blocks expands Eastside Lumber from a traditional supplier into a manufacturer of higher-value building components — panelized wall, floor, and roof systems that dramatically accelerate construction timelines.

Capital
Tranche agreements + pooled closings make absorption an input, not a risk.
Manufacturing
Each $10M cell produces 500 homes/year, breaking even by year 2.
Field
Standard site kits + SLAs = predictable set and finish timelines.

The Problem
- ✕New construction flatlined at 711 homes/year across KCMO
- ✕Fewer than 112 homes built south of the river
- ✕Labor shortages create persistent budget overruns
- ✕Projects rely on fragmented, out-of-region prefabrication
- ✕Traditional builders avoid urban core neighborhoods
The Bilt-Blocks Solution
- ✓Local manufacturing hub eliminates out-of-region dependency
- ✓500 homes/year initial, scaling to 2,750 annually
- ✓Framing inspection readiness in two days, not weeks
- ✓Warehouse-ready kits stabilize costs amid tariff swings
- ✓Trainable system turns residents into production experts
